DISCLAIMER: Please notice I haven't taken classes at the school, and this is my reason why. Just am sharing my experience.
1) I wanted to have classes 2 -3 times a week, 1 hour a day during several weeks. In this case if I want to take one hour a day they cannot guarantee the same teacher is available during the week. It doesn't sound really good to me if I need to switch between teachers. They insist on taking two hours a day which doesn't fit my schedule very well.
2) I asked them for two paid test-drive hours but they wanted to charge me $45=$10+$10+$25. 1 hour costs $10 and $25 is a year subscription which they do not return back if I don't like the classes and decide to drop learning with them.
PS
Besides that, there seems to be too many paper work with all the registrations, subscriptions and so forth. They even asked me for a copy of my passport. I really do not understand why it should be that way overcomplicated.I didn't ask them to sell a nuclear bomb, just wanted to improve my bloody Spanish.

what i look for in a Spanish language school designed to accommodate tourist is 1) the teacher is interested & knows how to teach 2) the administration is responsible and helpful 3) its located near the central area of the city 4) & the homestay is comfortable and the family wants to and is available to help you learn. 5) Finally, does the school offer a social component e.g going with other students to a park or museum arranged by the school. this school in my opinion did well on all accounts despite that i generally like classes with other students rather than a tutor. Here, the staff was responsible and I felt they were there to help me; the teacher was very good and I felt she tried to focus on my needs; the location was 5 minutes from the center of the city; they had after school programs; and my homestay family was excellent -- from the grandmother to the parents to the 3 sons-- all were friendly and had time to talk with me-- overall a very good experience.

Altamente recomendado.

My wife and I did one week of classes at the school (4 hours in the classroom in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon visiting places around the city with a teacher working on conversation). We also did a tour of cajas park through the travel agency located in the same offices. The school has nine classrooms, a bathroom, an administrative office, a few break/sitting rooms (more like hallways), and a kitchen (I suspect it was an old house they bought and converted). Virtually every classroom was full the entire time we were there. The teachers I talked with had all worked in the local school system either as spanish language or literature teachers. The ones I worked with were excellent, very patient. There had been some communication delays before we got to Cuenca, but perserverence paid off. Highly recommend.
